Welcome to
Briarhook Farm Ceramics

For the past ten years we have been engaged in the process of pottery making. At first it was just to have a place to release the day, but then friends, family and other people in our community said they wanted to BUY our products! Our focus has been to produce a line of functional pottery that you can use and more importantly, visually enjoy when you aren’t! We create objects that will enrich your life and enhance your home because they are works that have meaning. A very unique thing about our work is that you can’t ‘get another one’ because just like you, each creation is a one-off.

THE CLAY STAMP

When Jeremy and I first began making pottery, we didn't have a way to mark our work.

We talked about signing pieces by hand; and a few early, larger pieces are signed, but the approach never felt quite right.

So, we experimented with small, handmade bisque stamps, yet none of them truly satisfied us.

Eventually, Jeremy decided to have a custom stamp made-one that included the likeness of a Bernese Mountain Dog.

At the time, we were sharing our lives (and farm...and furniture...) with two of these gentle giants.

Angelina "Angel" and Theodore "Teddy"

The stamp felt right immediately. It reflected both our pottery and our life on the farm, and it remains a natural conversation starter. Angel and Teddy were beautiful, loving companions. We were blessed to have them with us for eight and a half years.

We miss them deeply, but their presence-and their spirit-remain close, impressed into every piece we make.
